I suppose starting out with an introduction would be the best thing to do. My partner and I live in Florida, not a great state for homosexual rights, but warm and close to family. I am not going to post our names as to keep things anonymous cause you never know these days. I am 27 yrs old going on 28 yrs old and my partner is 32 yrs of age. We have been together 5.5 years and have had our rough times only to be followed by some great times. We tend to spend alot of time goofing off at home. We own a house in a nice small town on the East Coast, and we recently began raising my 6 year old nephew for my older brother, which is a whole other story, either way he's here with us.
We have decided to start a family after many discussions on the subject, we technically have a family with my nephew living here, but having a newborn is far different than our current situation. My partner is going to be the one carrying and I am going to be the "coach/support team". Ah yes I have been assigned the easier of the two roles, but she is one fiesty lady so we'll see if I lucked out or not.
We tend to just work and have a relatively "normal" household ...no partying or giant parties just regular couple next door. I am the money stresser and she is the more carefree one. I am a creature of habit and I generally do not like a change in plans. My partner is alittle more understanding with others and very forgiving. I will probably end up the discplinarian and she will be the fun one in the parenting process. We do have the support of both of our families, mine alittle more supportive but hers are in our corner too. That is our family in a nut shell.
I would like to write another blog about the more medical side of what we have been through so far. We started planning this journey a few months ago and began taking all of the serious precautions such as insurance and GYN visit in August/September so we have recieved some information and choosen a cryobank.
